Naver Cafe Board Filter: Hide Boards from Your All Articles Feed

Open Source Factory · Jul 31, 2026 · 3 min read

A busy Naver Cafe feed can mix the boards you read with marketplace and attendance posts. This userscript filters selected boards in the All Articles view. It changes what your browser displays, while leaving the original posts available when the filter is disabled.

Naver Cafe's All Articles view is convenient — except for one thing.

A cafe with many boards can mix marketplace, attendance and event posts into the same feed. This script hides the selected boards from that view, making it easier to scan the remaining posts. The reversible example below explains what changes on the page.

Naver doesn't ship a per-board filter. So I built one.

Features

πŸ“‹ Per-board checkboxes

Check the boards you want to see. Uncheck one and its posts vanish from the All Articles feed.

πŸ’Ύ Per-cafe auto-save

What you hide in Cafe A never affects Cafe B. Settings are stored per cafe.

πŸ”„ SPA aware

New-style Naver Cafe never reloads the page — it just swaps the URL. The script detects navigation and re-applies the filter.

πŸŒ™ Dark theme

The dropdown UI is dark-themed. DarkReader users won't feel a thing.

Installation

1
Install the Tampermonkey extension

Works on Chrome / Edge / Firefox / Safari.
πŸ‘‰ Grab the version for your browser at tampermonkey.net

2
Install the script (one click)

When Tampermonkey asks "Do you want to install this userscript?" click Install.

3
Reload Naver Cafe

Go to a cafe's All Articles page and hit F5 or Ctrl+R.
A πŸ“‹ Board Filter button appearing next to "Hide notices" means success!

πŸ”© One-click not working? (manual install)
  1. Click the Tampermonkey icon → Dashboard
  2. Click the + (new script) tab
  3. Select all the default editor content and delete it (Ctrl+A → Delete)

Questions and limitations

Q. The button doesn't show up

Make sure you're on the All Articles page. The URL needs /menus/0 or menuid=0. It doesn't appear on individual board pages.

Q. The board list is empty

Hit the πŸ” debug button in the bottom-right corner. It prints the detected boards and a DOM sample. Some cafe layouts are unusual.

Q. My settings got reset

Tampermonkey's storage is tied to your browser. Clearing browser data wipes the settings too.

Q. Does it work on other cafes?

Yes — it applies to all of cafe.naver.com. Settings are stored per cafe, so what you hide in Cafe A never touches Cafe B.

πŸ“‹

Out of 150,000 posts in the All Articles feed, see only the boards you want.
Set it once and it's saved per cafe.

A reversible filter example

Suppose a cafe’s All Articles list mixes Questions, Marketplace and Attendance boards. Leave Questions selected and uncheck the other two. Their detected rows are hidden in your browser; the posts remain on Naver and visible to other members. Select “Show all” to restore them. This is a worked usage example, not a live compatibility test on every cafe.

The userscript reads the rendered page and saves selections through Tampermonkey’s GM storage under each cafe’s identifier. It cannot grant access to restricted boards, delete posts or change server-side search. A Naver layout change can break the selectors. If an expected row disappears, restore all boards or disable the script before troubleshooting.

Before installing, read the source and the matching domains. Use the original repository linked below. For a bug report, include the script version, browser version, page type and steps to reproduce; remove member names and private post contents from any sample. This update reviewed the published source; it does not certify future Naver layout compatibility.
