SolidCraft: Resize the Part, Then Check the Holes

SolidCraft: Resize the Part, Then Check the Holes Open Source Factory · Tested October 28, 2026 · SolidCraft v0.24.1 Watch the English motion graphic A Part You Can Change — original English motion graphics, music and sound design by Open Source Factory. Editorial geometry animation based on the test; not an app recording, slicer result, or physical print. The bracket got wider. Its mounting holes stayed put. That was the most useful result of my SolidCraft test: changing a parameter rebuilt the body cleanly, while the hole layout kept exactly the coordinates I had given it. SolidCraft can produce an editable CAD design through an AI agent, and the result can survive a dimension change. The quality of that change still depends on the relationships the design records. For this article, I used the native MCP server in v0.24.1 to build a bracket, widen it from 60 to 80 mm, inspect its geometry, and export it. I did not print the part or test its fit under a load. What does SolidCraft gi...

AGENTS & WORKFLOWS REA: Inspect the Evidence Behind a Reconstruction Open Source Factory · Oct 13, 2026 · 6 min read Watch the English motion graphic English motion graphic and new original music: Open Source Factory. Public-source overview, not our REA test. Instrumental music; no narration. If an agent says it understands an application, ask where the answer came from. REA's public examples supply source locations and analysis artifacts that can be inspected. That evidence trail is more useful than a star count when deciding whether to try the project. In this article Evidence an agent can inspect The Notion case explains the everyday use The DX-Ball example goes below JavaScript Installation and target requirements Local analysis still has boundaries The project is morluto/rea , short for Reverse Engineer Anything . MODELS & COSTS EmbeddingGemma 2: Search the Archive You Actually Have Open Source Factory · Oct 06, 2026 · 6 min read A remembered event might be stored in a photo, an audio clip or a text note. EmbeddingGemma 2 offers components for searching across those formats locally. The first decision is which formats the archive needs, before loading the largest configuration by default. In this article Four formats in the retrieval stack Text-search gains in the published results Choosing which components to load Vector size and the quality loss A mixed-media archive as a first project Starting with a smaller configuration Google’s EmbeddingGemma 2 , announced on October 6, 2026, is interesting for that reason. It puts text, images, video and audio into one local search system. The model scales from a 270M text configuration to 740M for all modalities , with Apache 2.0 licensing. That makes it a useful building block for searching a mixed personal archive. Google’s announcement . Image:...

AGENTS & WORKFLOWS OpenClaw 2.0: Read the Migration Alongside the Features Open Source Factory · Sep 01, 2026 · 6 min read OpenClaw released v2026.8.1 on August 31 under the 2.0 name. The project reports 933 contributors, including 569 first-timers, and more than 16,000 PRs after a seven-week rebuild. The practical changes concern shared workspaces, credentials and automation approvals. A rebuilt interface is only part of an OpenClaw upgrade. Existing credentials, shared sessions and scheduled work still have to behave correctly after migration. The versioned release notes are a better guide to that job than the total number of merged pull requests. In this article The release gap and rebuild Guided onboarding The Control UI changes Shared cloud-session permissions Documented security changes Memory behavior and opt-in Breaking changes in the upgrade Other user-facing changes The release gap and rebuild OpenClaw’s release notes describe a rebuild after 49 days without a releas...

Subsequent reporting says NVIDIA confirmed the agreement; that does not mean the acquisition has closed. The original uncertainty wording below belongs to the publication date. Image: Hugging Face logo (huggingface.co). Reports of Nvidia buying Hugging Face matter because the hub distributes models used far beyond Nvidia hardware. The accounts disagreed on price and whether anything was signed. This article examines what such a deal could change, while keeping the reported talks separate from a completed acquisition.
